Slappy gave me a buzz this afternoon and said that he won the tournament and Dude came in second. I was yahooing! Way to go guys..outstanding effort in unfavorable conditions against a reported 200 plus kayak anglers. Wish I could have been there, stuck working OT in CT and that wasn't such a bad thing but would have liked to participate in the fun. Way to represent UKF and New England Kayak Anglers! banana.gif banana.gif banana.gif banana.gif banana.gif banana.gif banana.gif

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Too tired to write details.

Here is some fish porn.

35", 15 lb weakfish.

Caught in Pumpkin Patch Channel on a hot pink "spine eel" (they were the booth next to King Cove at RISAA this year) on a 3/4 oz Kalin jig head.

You earned that one with all the scouting. Man you fish hard.
Great meeting all you guys!

Congrats slappy! My fly fishing was tough at Jam Bay but I'll keep casting.

See you guys on the Sound.

Congratulations to both Eric and Doug…New England was in fact very well represented this year by NEKF and UKF and Jamaica Bay was on fire with Larger Bluefish up to mid 30”, mid size Stripers to upper 30”’s, and giant Weakfish 35”-39”’s, not to mention Winter Flounder, Fluke, and Tautog also in the waters with big Bunker and Squid.

A good memory and a fun time was had. I remember Dude running across the parking lot and jumping into the air, yelling “I f*@kin won it”, then someone said, where is Slappy and sure enough he was the last in and just inching out Doug for first. Doug said that when he launched that morning he made a beeline for JFK moving about 3.5-4 Kts…moving ahead of the pack and getting up into the pumpkin patch before anyone else and as he rounded the corner, there was Slappy. Doug said “man I though I was the first up in here…how long have you been here”…Slappy’s reply, “Oh about 40 minutes.” Once again, Eric has proven that he is truly a master on soft plastic slinging and his was running and gunning method really paid off for him this last weekend.

We all caught fish and I can say I had a good time both meeting new people, but also talking with old friends once again and fishing some incredible spring waters.

Congratulation Dude, Your the Man.

Nice fish... As I was driving out I did see Stoner and Adam off in the bushes dressing it like a deer...

Thanks for fishing with me Friday...

It was definitely fun fishing there. The bite was steady through the whole day, but you had to work hard to get past the blues--the blues chopped up most of the plastic I brought. Weakfish were few and far between, I fished 2 days and picked up about 60 fish a day with 3 weaks in there. Best one was 16-7, just a beast!

I spoke to Jeff a couple times during the day, he kept me pumped to fish hard and up the slam size!
