Don your set for 5. Email sent with details.
We have a little kayak fishing village going from people all over New England. For those with RV's there are no road restrictions to get to Salem Willows, easy off 95 to route 114. You must call the Winter Island office to reserve RV and also for addtional tent spots if privacy is prefered. Families are welcome! There are lots to do at the Willows for Families while we are fishing, arcades, ice cream shops and more. All within a short walk or bike ride. Email me for any information about this area. August is prime Striper Time in this area and full of Rocky Shorelines and Islands from North Shore to Cape Ann. I will provide prime launching areas and hot areas to all. Tube and wormers will love what North Shore and Cape Ann has to offer and lots of protected water from all directions. Captains Segulls map fans: Look for Portsmouth Harbor to Boston Harbor Map. "Salem Sound" is the area we will be camping. A paddle out to an area called "The Goosberries", "Goosberry Ledge" would be worth the trip. -------------------- "It's all bullsh*t and its bad for ya" -- George Carlin

If I understood it correctly, 5 spots can hold 10 tents so using 1 man tents we are looking for 10 people

Little tid bits on Winter Island:
Bring a nice little cart to move your yak from the Campsite to the water. It's less then 100 yards to the water on pavement for most and 20 yards through light sand and gravel. Campfires are allowed. Bunker are in. Don't forget that snagger! There are plenty of rocky shorelines and Islands to fish. Tube and Worm anglers will love it. The islands are the best bet on the falling tides. It's a long trek but very doable. You will hear names like "Childrens Island", "Gooseberries" etc. These are prime fishing areas for Striped Bass and big bass rumors are all true. The high percentage areas for casting IME is with the White Water around the islands. Black flies and Black Sluggos will easily be seen through the white and gobbled. Dawn and Dusk blitzing will also happen. The water clarity is getting much better. If you can see a yellow tag coming at you or Chartruese specs in bunches you better believe that is a school of Striped Bass and they will see you. Daytime anglers take note: Bass can be very line shine. 13lb or less flouro tippet will be worth carrying for fly anglers. Think big flies in Bunker pattern. 12lb Seaguar for open class casters will be worth carrying as well. Eel anglers will love to troll around this area. From Winter Island Launch there is a large boulder field that will hold big bass on the falling tide. Devereaux Beach is a fantastic area for trolling eels. All these areas are within a short paddle from the camp site. If you have any questions let me know. Thanks The Riddler -------------------- "It's all bullsh*t and its bad for ya" -- George Carlin

Thanks for the reminder - who is going from UKF? who needs a tent area. Don has paid for 5 spots (10 1 man tents) we need a tally on who is going and who needs a tent spot.
Anyone planning on going for Thursday? and staying over until the tournament is over?? Any shower and toilet facilities on the campsite or near it?
Yes. Showers and toilet facilities are less then 50 yards away. How about ice? Best best is to go to the supermarket before coming out to Winter Island. Winter Island has ice available but I believe you pay the premium. Resteraunts or markets? Yes. We have Salem Willows that has mostly fast food. There is one covience store off grounds within a short car ride. How about a physical address to program into my (land) GPS? 50 Winter Island Road, Salem, MA 01970 (978)745-9430 / fax (978)745-1875 Thanks, Don O -------------------- "It's all bullsh*t and its bad for ya" -- George Carlin
