Got tired of catching a bunch of small bass the last few outings in the fresh water,..so I headed to the salt this morning searching for something that would put a little more bend in my rod! When I got out to my favorite rock-pile there were already 2 kayakers plus a guy and what looked like his son,..in a bay-boat trolling live bunker back and forth over the reef!!
The other yaker's looked like they were trolling a tube & worm and they moved away before I really got close. I fished for about an hour without a bite and watched as the live-bait guys caught a few and was thinking that the other yakers probably had the same experience!

Just when I was about to give up and go search for a new spot,..I had a beauty come up and blast my Houdini on the surface!! Right after the initial explosion, it came completely out of the water twice more before it got down to bull-dogging,...and then was nice enough to tow me out away from the rocks about 60 yards before finally giving up! cool.gif It measured 37" and about 20#,...really a fun fish to catch! After I teathered it to the yak,..I fished for a little while longer, catching a couple more schoolies (15-20") before calling it a morning after the sun broke through the clouds and sent everything deep!

  • Interests:Kayak Fishing is my main hobby and to stop myself from crawling up the wall I build websites in the winter. UKF is a place to meet friends and I have found a lot of friends here.

    See you on the water.
