Hello all,
I am new to this forum and have only started Kayak fishing this past summer. I have an Old Town Loon 138 that I have had for about 7 years but only started fishing freshwater this summer. I really enjoyed it and now have the BUG...
Can't wait for spring 2010. I'm thinking of a Hobie Outback...
I live about 40 miles south of Boston on Long Pond in Lakeville so I do a lot fishing on that and Lake Rico and small ponds and rivers in the area. I have a lot to learn so I will be cruising this site for ideas.
There does appear to be more interest in saltwater than freshwater judging by the # of topics in each given forum.. Someday maybe I will move into salt also...

Hi Carl, welcome to the site. I think saltwater anglers are post more. I know there are a lot of freshwater kayak anglers here but they tend to keep low profile. You'll be seeing me trolling the freshwater forum come ice out since I'll be right next to a lake and I have to figure out freshwater fishing.

Hi Carl, welcome to the forum. I do a pretty equal mix of fresh and saltwater fishing depending on the season & the weather. I was an avid (freshwater) bass-fisherman before I got into the kayak thing,..so if you've got any questions about that, ask away! cool.gif

Part of the saltwater interest here is that many of us live (or in Nils case, vacation) on the shoreline. Doesn't mean we don't fish freshwater though. I like fishing freshwater better, but I like paddling in salt (so much more to explore!)

So, if you have questions, ask, and if you have stories or advice, tell, we appreciate any kind of fishing.
