Hi All,
Any recommendations on portable VHF for kayaking. I had a West Marine 150, but it got broken bouncing around in the big boat. Seemed to be an ok radio.
Thanks,
Mark

    See you on the water.

For the kayak I would get another Raymarine Ray101E Lon battery life, waterproof and add a cigarette lighter plug for your FF/GPS battery and you can use it if the radio battery is dead using the 12 Volt cigarette lighter adapter included. 3 hour charge time, little expensive at around $180.00 but worth it.

I have a Cobra Marine MR HH425. Has long battery life, 1 chargeable and a pack for 6 AA's. Has all Marine and weather Freq's. Can switch between GMRS (Walkie Talkie), marine and weather with touch of button. I used for one season so far haven't needed to change AA batteries yet.
