Robert H found Shad (12 -18 inch) the other night at the Groton Long Point Esker Beach Bridge on the incoming tide. I went there Wednesday Night myself and managed to catch 1/2 dozen of them in 40 minutes on 6wt Floating using small white flies.

Nice. Shad are fun on the fly.

Did you see anything feeding on them?

Yep, the next time I go down there I'm thinking putting a big shad looking fly on the end with a small dropper for the shad 18" or so up the leader. Who knows the action the real shad imparts on the fake, may do the trick.

Pay a fair price for tackle. Buy it at a tackle shop.
