The Seventh Annual Jamaica Bay Kayak Fishing Tournament, Hosted by Captain Kayak. Registration is open on CaptainKayak.com

The Seventh Annual Jamaica Bay Kayak Fishing Tournament hosted by Captain Kayak will be held on Saturday, May 15th, 2010. Last year's tournament was a huge success, with 262 registered kayak anglers from all over (as far as France) enjoying the many activities and great fishing. Even the fog didn’t keep the participants from catching and releasing the largest striped bass and weakfish in the event’s history. This event is geared both for the serious kayak angler and the person who wants to learn more about this fast growing and exciting sport. Read the whole writeup on Captain Kayak's tournament signup page...

I did it, I'm signed up. Now I have to figure out how to make a Ford Focus into a camper...

So who else from UKF are going (I know some are like me, UKF, NEKF and YakDawgs forum members)

Nils, you can always go the inexpensive tent route. I may do that this year. It depends on the weather. If it looks iffy I'll take me travel trailer but would prefer not to so I can bring a kayak trailer instead.

We already have about 250 registrants. We're closing it off at 350 this year.

Fred,

Looking forward to see you there.

JonS,

I may do the tent route. I am looking at the different options I have to sleep and tent seem to be the best way. I registered first day I think first hour of the signup form being posted :)

I guess this is your roll call, sign up or be left out...

Nils

Nils - I need to work, so I'm not heading down until Friday - leaving Connecticut around lunch, probably. Change of plans - I think I'm staying with friends in Breezy Point, just over the Marine Parkway Bridge, so no sleeping in the car! I'll register Friday, and show up around 6-7 on Saturday morning.
