15 Angler Vs Ultra 4.7 - Additional Weight

Hello Friends,

I'm currently using the Torque and love it,

From my point of view this is full plug and fish kayak ,

However i think that the "good" on this kayak is what make him problematic in some situation,

And this happen when i just want to lift the motor up and paddle which is almost impossible with the Torque ...

This reason lead me to think about change it to Trident 15 Angler or Ultra 4.7 (with or without a motor).

When reading on this two kayaks its look like the Ultra 4.7 is more fishing friendly and have some upgrades based on fishing requirements,

One think that cause me to double think on it is the 8 KG additional weight on the Ultra,

I will be happy to get some inputs from you, friends who have experience both kayaks ...

thanks!

Kobi Shalom

Just returned home from my employment in Montana and anxious to get the yaks in the water and do some fishing. Due to work I never got a chance to fish the Cape this year or wet a line since April. I have a lot of time to make up!

For you that live north of the Line of Northern Aggression the stripers have headed out and you are starting to think of hard water fishing. Thankfully we don’t have to worry about that down here. This is my friend from up in Yankee Land and hopefully when you are shoveling that white stuff hopefully this is what I will be doing.

Introduction And Some Help

Hey all, My name is Angelo I'am from Southern NJ and I love to fly fish. I just started fly fishing just last year and I can't put my rod down. I also got into fly tying about a few weeks ago a fun hobbie during the winter. Next year I'am pump for fishing all because I'am getting a Kayak and can't wait to see all the opportunities that await. I do need some help I plan on getting a Kayak during the last week of January and since I never been in a Kayak I really don't know which one I try choose. I'am not trying to spend alot of $$$$ roughly around $400, I was looking at Dicks and the Potomac Pathfinder 100 Kayak look's pretty decent and cheap to spend some extra money on some other essentials. Since I know there is no perfect Kayak for fishing would this choice be good for a beginner? And what about a roof rack for transporting from home to water? Ain't I able to use bungee cords to tie off the back and front to my car instead of spending $100 on a decent rack? I only plan on driving local lakes and ponds. Maybe a 30min drive at the most. Oh really don't know what to ask Any tips advice would be great. Thanks

Here are some pictures:
