Welcome To Ultimate Kayak Fishing a Community (UKF) of Kayak Anglers representing New England
and beyond. UKF was started in November of 2003 and the community forum
was added June 2005, based in Stonington, CT, and started out as a
hobby by founder Nils Christensen. That hobby has now grown into a well
established community of both new and veteran kayak anglers. And while
we are all different from one another in personality, background,
temperament, and species pursued in fresh or salt, we share a common
bond: Passion for the sport of Kayak Fishing and the fish that fuels
that emotion! UKF is a free community with no dues or fees.
One of the reasons for not having regional forums for each state is to
keep it open and easy going and keep us online as a group of friends
instead of members located in different states. It don't matter to us
where you are located in the World, if you are planning on fishing in
New England you have a fishing partner here. Only ask for directions to
the boat ramp and we'll be lined up behind you.
The only thing we ask in return is to keep it fairly clean and friendly while online. There is no such thing as a stupid question and flaming is not cool (I just gave away my age). Don't burn your buddy's spots, remember he know where yours are but general direction is OK and by joining others you will find your own spots. There are a few "secret spots" no longer a secret because they had reams of articles written about them. Still within a well known area there are places where local knowledge will put you on fish where nobody else is catching. Another good thing is to leave the rest of your day behind when you coming online. Re read what you intend to post or you may end up in the "Open mouth insert foot" type of situations. What you intend to write and what you wrote may not come out the way you read it because the reader may not read it the way you intended it to be read. We all joke and have fun, that can be misunderstood and if you feel that you are on the receiving end of this PM me or if you are comfortable with it PM the poster instead of starting a war in a tread on the forum. Maybe the way you read it was not the way it was intended. If you are new to this forum, new to kayak fishing, or an old salt in the yak, "Welcome to Ultimate Kayak Fishing aka UKF for short". Join the community, introduce your self, or just enjoy reading the articles and posts on the forum. If you can't find a solution add a post asking us if we have any info or give us your solution if you found a better way to build the mousetrap (rig the kayak) that the way we have it. Welcome to UKF from Staff and Management Nils Christensen |
